MODX.RU — a new start!
Today our team significant event happened — we announce the launch of absolutely new project MODX.RU. As before, the aim of the website is to promote the wonderful management system, MODX CMS among Russian-speaking web-developers and end users of the system. We expect that new opportunities will make it much better.

The website modx.ru appeared in June 2006. The sole owner of the project at that time was Maxim Korinets [yentsun], better known in the MODX community under the name Yentsun. Thanks to this man was translated basic description is still quite a young project modx.com made design, and some functionality was almost unchanged until the completion of the first version. Thank you, Maxim! Without you we would not have this project at all.
After some time max moved away from direct development on MODX and decided to transfer the project under my control. For some time I continued to develop MODX, but at some point in time realized that can't keep up to date alone.
As I'm sure the "veterans" of MODX, the website modx.ru in the old form, is obsolete morally and physically. The last couple of years, unfortunately, it generally does not develop that even led to the reasonable requirements of some users of the MODX community to close the project, in order not to scare away its new users. For a long time to reach could not, therefore the solution to stop the project and any way to fix this issue permanently.
So in the end the project was fully transferred to the company where I work, so I write this article on behalf of the entire team as a whole. Without the efforts of every member of our company, we would not be able to create a project that you now represent.

We decided to close the project would be a great loss to the community of MODX, which also are among them. Our team loves this system of control, and who else, if not for us, to take over the development of the project MODX.RU. However, to develop the site further in the form in which it was, no longer had any sense. Therefore, the company held a General brainstorming, where each member could offer their ideas for renewal.
Once you start discussing architecture, we realized that in MODX this level of projects, probably, has not been created yet. Was tempted to use third-party solutions or frameworks. For example, they discussed the idea of using the Yii framework. However, the team was firmly convinced that all the planned functionality can and should implement means only MODX Revolution.
And the work started.
So, after many iterations (hundreds of closed tasks in to-do lists) and a long period of development of the site (more than six months and nearly 900 man-hours), we are happy to announce that finally did it! the We have launched a renewed modx.ru!
In the new project we have tried to implement the most useful from our point of view, the functionality that will allow users to obtain information about MODX CMS is most useful and interesting.

The new portal contains relevant information about the versions of MODX, history and frequently asked questions, Information is translated directly from the site modx.com with the permission of the developers of MODX.

Earlier, commenting and many other actions of the users were anonymous. In certain cases it even is good, but most often not. Now on the website, for commenting, for grading in the rankings and perform other actions have to log in. By the way, authorization is allowed via various social networks and to OpenID.

We decided not to move away from the current trend and made it possible to add guidelines for working with MODX and news by users. In the articles of the code is highlighted automatically.

This is not a replacement of the old forums, but we hope that the innovation will be an additional way of getting quick and professional response to your questions.

Before a gallery of sites developed on MODX, was a directory of sites without the author. More precisely, the author was — and his name was specified, but unambiguous link between the author and his website was not. It often happens that different authors report the same names, which created confusion in the catalog.
Now each site will have a unique binding profile. We have tried to move all the sites (more than thousands of them!) from old catalog MODX.RU in the new, however, for obvious reasons, yet they do not have bindings to their authors. If you have ever added your site to the old directory, please attach them to your new profile — it can be done immediately after authorization on the site.

The previous version of the site modx.ru often subjected to reasonable claims related to the use of individual websites and their authors. Previously, the rating is almost entirely depended on the perseverance of the individual authors :). Cheat it not worth almost any effort. In the new version of the project MODX.RU we have tried to fix this problem.
Includes three interdependent components: the rating of individual sites with sorting on different parameters, the rating of web developers and companies working with MODX. We understand that the ratings are often perceived ambiguously, so we tried to implement such a ranking mechanism, which strives for maximum objectivity.
The real formula for calculating ratings of web developers and companies is pretty large. It takes into account parameters such as the total number of user sites, the rating of each user's website, his articles, comments, and responses to questions, etc. in addition, over time the rating will gradually be reduced.
Overall rating of the companies directly depends on the rating of the users that belong to this company.
